hello. my name is jim bishop. this is what i look like today:
yesterday was a beautiful day! first, we went to target to get kyle a fishing net and a floatie, but alas they didn't have a fishing net. then, we went to academy where they had it all: little orange fishing net, little floatie, etc.
then, it was off to hamilton pool. it was great. there weren't too many people out there. the only problem we ran into was these scary women that kept telling kyle what he could and couldn't do. so i taught kyle another new concept "white trash." he thought that was funny. :-)
i got away for a little while last night. i went to a dinner party at a friend's house and left the wife and kid at home. he made sushi. i was a little afraid at first because the concept of homemade sushi flies in the face of reason!! why would you mortgage your house and go to mushashino's when you can just make fabulous sushi at home? it was excellent. i am now ready to experiment.
i think at some point i offered to make someone a tape. god that's analog. i remember the last tape i made was in 1994. i remember that because i made it for my mom. i made this really great tape hoping to "bridge the gap." (lay off, i was 19!) anyway, it was the best tape ever. i kept a copy for margaret and i, and it's our favorite mix tape to this day. i called it "platypus" because i put a picture of a platypus on the cover. deep, huh? anyway, later i found out my mother never even listened to it, but my brother really liked it and took it with him to college.
i'm sure there's a lesson there somewhere...
- you can never go home again?
- love can't build a bridge?
- a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?
- it's better to give than to receive?
who knows?
today, i'm taking kyle to the animal shelter so he can name all of the dogs out there for me.
once again, for katherine's benefit, non-javascript pictures.
