ahhhhh... the fourth of july weekend looms ahead of me like a huge expanse of days. look!! there's a day!! there's another and another and another!! what is the problem with the fourth of july weekend? people. you can't do much over this weekend without being up to your elbows in a sea of people. margaret and i made the mistake of going camping a couple of years ago on the 4th. my god!! everyone and their screaming children and their smelly dogs and their loud music were at the state park we were at. so much for back to nature. so much for seclusion. worse yet is the road situation. i heard on NPR this morning about this stroganoff exhibit at the kimball in fort worth. margaret loves russian nobility. so as a dutiful, good husband i rush into the bedroom from the shower (yes, i have a radio in my shower) to see if she wants to go there this nice long weekend. she says no because of the horrible fourth of july weekend traffic. the irony here is that we are now prisoners of this country's independence. i wish we were still controlled by the british, so that i could go to fort worth this weekend. well, maybe not. :-) recent CD purchases: Belle & Sebastian -- Fold Your Hands Child...
